Pondless Waterfall In Woodbury MN

Creative Ponds & Landscapes is a pond & landscape contractor specializing in the installation of backyard ponds, waterfalls, pondless waterfalls, fountains, assorted water features, low voltage landscape lighting & landscaping in Minneapolis & St. Paul MN and surrounding Twin Cities area.

Constructed in 2010 this 35' L Pondless waterfall & landscape installation is located in Woodbury, Mn It was designed to take advantage of the large existing hill that faced the clients home & newly installed multi faceted deck. There was nothing but grass in this large backyard, the perimeter landscape was designed to eliminate some of the grass mowing & to compliment & soften the large pondless waterfall. Several trees & shrubs were installed in the surrounding landscape including a Birch, Spruce, Serviceberry, Crabapple, Dogwood, Shrub Rose & a group of Arborvitae to help give it a woodsy feel. A large variety of sun loving Perennials & Grasses were installed to add seasonal color & texture.  6 low voltage lighting fixtures illuminate the Pondless waterfall for extended night time enjoyment. The cascading waterfall can be heard from the large new deck & from inside when the patio door is open.  I am excited to see this project mature in the next couple years. Due to its size this project is best appreciated in person as it is difficult to photograph.

"What People Are Saying"...  "We had a vision for landscaping the backyard of our house for several years that included a sizeable running creek.  We researched the possibilities for over two years through a variety of sources including spending time on many websites of people and companies who professed to be experts at both; water features and landscaping.   During that search we came across Creative Ponds and Landscapes. The pictures of the pondless waterfalls and the surrounding features and plantings were exactly what we hand in mind.  We continued our search keeping note of this company.  With everyone we saw (and there were many), we found ourselves always coming back to the Creative Ponds and Landscapes site.  The artistry show in the work was clearly a point of differentiation. We weren’t exactly sure the nature of the differences we were seeing but everything looked superior.  Once we met Chris and then watched him work on our project we had our answer. Chris is an artist, and a very knowledgeable one at that.  He painstakingly worked to make sure he understood our vision of the project; spending hours with us before even giving us a quote.  He worked to make sure our expectations were in alignment both with the scope of the project and the costs, and infused his extensive knowledge of plants, landscaping, and water management into the plan.

The true test of an artist comes in the end result, but watching one work was something else.  Chris went to the quarry and hand picked the Dresser stone that formed the water feature making sure the angles, colors, and sizes would fit just right.  He sculpted the ground making sure each and every step had the right size, the right turn, and the right “foundation” to hold the water.   Each rock was hand placed….many times….to get exactly the right look and construction stability.  While the water feature came out exquisite, the plants he chose to accent and surround the pondless waterfall were equally as great.  He created a multi-seasonal dynamic and “living” feature with his knowledge of color, seasonal blooms, and plant selection to handle the hardy climate we have in Minnesota.  Chris also understood how to illuminate the features with lighting to enable a different and really enjoyable experience after the sun sets.

The project was done on time and on budget.  Chris has stayed involved for the entire year after the project had been completed proactively stopping by to simply check on things.  He has replaced plants that did not make it through the first season and fully serviced the waterfall both in the fall and in the spring for a reasonable fee.  We are VERY happy we met Chris and had him do this project for us.  If you are truly looking for the best, we would give him the highest of recommendations to consider for your landscaping project."   Steve & Deb
